Mary M. Glockzin, age 89, of West, passed away early Saturday morning, February 28, 2009 at Providence Health Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West by Janice Kaluza, followed by a visitation until 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Graveside services will be held 3:30 p.m. at Perry United Methodist Cemetery near Riesel. Mrs. Glockzin was born on September 1, 1919 near Otto, the daughter of Richard and Ida (Gaeke) Miller. She attended Alexander School near Otto. In 1955, she was united in marriage to Walter Glockzin in Marlin. He preceded her in death in March of 1963. She worked as a sales clerk for Lonnie Hicks Shoe Store in Marlin for 38 years until her retirement in 1994. Mary dearly loved her grandchildren and thought they were the "Jewels in Her Crown". She enjoyed reading and sewing. Mary was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marlin where she taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the Marlin Parent Teachers Association where she was a former President. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wesley Miller and Charlie Miller; and one sister, Louise Allen. Survivors include one son, Sherman Baranowski and wife Melanie of West; two granddaughters, Sarah Baranowski of West and Grace Baranowski of Waco; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Volunteer Ambulance Association or the American Heart Association.
