Joe Frank Divin, age 75, of West, passed away late Wednesday afternoon, November 2, 2011 at Providence Health Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Military Graveside Rites will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Divin was born January 25, 1936 in West, the son of Frank and Agnes (Kolar) Divin. He was a 1955 graduate of Itasca High School and received an associate degree in business from Draum's Business College. Joe Frank served his country with the United States Army, stationed at South Carolina, Arkansas and Fort Hood. On November 12, 1960 he was united in marriage to Dolores Ann Vanek. Joe Frank worked for General Motors Corporation in Arlington for over 32 years before retiring in 1995. He also worked for Certain-Teed in Hillsboro and did custom harvesting in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and Nebraska. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2305, American Legion Post No. 478, and K.J.T. Society in Hillsboro. Joe Frank enjoyed working on antique cars and tractors, especially John Deere, which was his favorite. He also enjoyed trucking, combining, gardening, harvesting, traveling to different states, and meeting people (he never met a stranger). Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years, Dolores Divin of West; three sons, Jeff Divin and wife Carrie of West, Todd Divin and wife Janet of College Station, and Brent Divin and wife Melissa of Stephenville; two brothers, Ernest Divin and wife Shelia of Duncanville and Norman Divin and wife Nancy of Hillsboro; two sisters, Margie Marak of Weatherford and Janie Petter of Temple; nine grandchildren, April, Jacob, Caitlyn, Brandon, Trinity, Abby, Aidan, Allison and Elizabeth; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Norman Divin, Ernest Divin, Daniel Vanek, Johnny Divin, Lawrence Bierschank and Alois Petter. Honorary pallbearers are the West Knights of Columbus 4TH Degree. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus Building Fund or St. Mary's School Endowment Fund.
